Loewe x Studio Ghibli

In honor of the latest film, The Boy and the Heron, I wanted to discuss one of the best collaborations of my time, Loewe x Studio Ghibli!

Loewe and Studio Ghibli have collaborated on three magical collections, each drawing inspiration from a beloved Hayao Miyazaki film. I have been lucky enough to invest in one piece per collection and cannot be happier in this decision to “splurge” on pieces I love.

1. Loewe x My Neighbor Totoro (January 2021)

• This first capsule collection brought the whimsical world of Totoro to life through ready-to-wear and leather goods featuring playful prints of the forest spirit and his friends.

2. Loewe x Spirited Away (January 2022)

• The second collection delved into the fantastical realm of Spirited Away, with Chihiro, No-Face, and other characters adorning bags, jackets, and scarves.

3. Loewe x Howl's Moving Castle (February 2023)

• The final collection, launched in February 2023, was a celebration of the fantastical Howl's Moving Castle, with Calcifer's fire illuminating bags, Sophie's elegance captured in silk dresses, and Howl's magic woven into intricate leather work.

Each collection was a unique blend of Loewe's luxury craftsmanship and Studio Ghibli's enchanting storytelling, offering fans a chance to wear their favorite films. The collaborations were highly successful, with each collection selling out quickly and generating excitement among fashion and Ghibli fans alike. I had to buy one piece from each collection, but my absolute favorite is my Howl’s Moving Castle Calcipher Mini Puzzle Bag. The compliments I receive on this bag are non-stop even almost one year after the drop!
